Please note the practice will be closed for staff training on the afternoon of Wednesday 22nd January. We will reopen Thursday 23rd at 8am.
The nature of working within a GP Practice means that our team members both clinical and administrative, work to tight time slots, the majority of which is spent in appointments/with our patients. Whilst this is a key element of our work, it means that there is no time within the working day to organise whole team staff training or hold vital meetings to support learning. Team Meetings and Staff Training form a key part of our work and allow us the opportunity to share learning events and train staff on new systems/procedures. To support us in being able to have time for these aspects of our work, we have achieved approval from our Integrated Care Board that we will close on Wednesday 22nd January 2025 from 1pm until 6.30pm to allow vital training to take place.
This will allow us invaluable time to develop our teams and support learning in a protected environment which is not possible when we are open, owing to clinic appointments and telephone calls. I am sure you can appreciate that this protected time is important to us as a practice to support the review of services and outcome for patients, but also to support staff well-being through a full team approach allowing all staff to come together for training and development sessions.
During these times we will be providing access to emergency care via an initial telephone assessment service from our out of hours provider.
Thank you for your advanced understanding.
